Classes are held in the Yoga Room at 63 Cherrywood Drive Norwood MA, Inez’s residence. The Yoga Room has been completely remodeled for the comfort and serenity of the students. The Yoga Room has a separate entrance, has central air conditioning (and of course is heated!), and has great lighting from 2 windows in the room. The floor is a cushy laminate; and Inez has all the yoga props necessary: blankets, sticky mats, pillows, belts, blocks, chairs, ties.
The Yoga Room accommodates up to 6 students. The classes are small, and fill quickly. Please call to find out which classes are still open. Top of page
WHAT KIND OF YOGA IS THIS? IS THIS YOGA FOR ME?
Yoga, as originally practiced, is a STATE OF MIND. It is being absolutely in the moment; it is the ability to direct the mind exclusively toward an object and sustain that direction without any distractions. In order to achieve this state of mind, special techniques, designed for personal transformation, are practiced. Meditation, yogic breathing (pranayama), asana (postures) and other techniques are practiced to enable the practitioner to find peace of mind, self-realization ...to be in the state of yoga.
Although practicing the physical postures releases tension in the body, strengthens, tones and makes the body flexible, this is not their purpose. The postures, properly done, serve to develop focus, concentration and mindfulness. With this training, the practitioner goes on to learn pranayama, visualization and meditation, to help stabilize the emotions and mental states, learn about themselves, and find peace and tranquility.
This is the kind of yoga that Inez practices and teaches. Her teaching is inspired by these principles and aspirations.
If you are looking for more than a physical “workout”; if you are looking for a balance between working with the body and the mind; if you are looking for peace and tranquility; if you want to train your mind, and are looking for self-knowledge, then this is the yoga for you.
If you are interested in joining Inez in one of her yoga classes, please call 781-762-5371 to find out which classes would be appropriate for you, and which classes still have openings. Top of page
